Who We Are
- Name:Laughing Lyons Norfolk Terriers
- Location:P.O. Box 7674, Greenwich CT 06836
The Norfolk Terrier line bred by Linda Lyons of Greenwich, Connecticut in the USA. As a small kennel, we are interested in breeding sound dogs with good temperaments primarily for conformation trials. Norfolk Terriers are primarily derived from small, red Irish Terriers, (Ireland) and large Yorkshire Terriers, (England) as well as the native East Anglian Red Terrier. (a type of gypsy dog) Norfolks and their close cousin, the Norwich, were originally developed as companion dogs and mousers for the students of Cambridge University in the 1880's. A perfect stable companion, Norfolks kept the barns free of vermin and also assisted in the fox hunt. A fiery Norfolk was released to bolt the fox when it went to ground in order for the hunt to continue. It is an enormous task to breed healthy dogs with the expense of research, time and money to bring together two sound dogs, especially within a breed considered to be rare. As we breed for health first, a show puppy would be a delightful reward. Maintaining proper diet, daily workouts and consistent socialization with children, new people, other dogs in the world at large takes a great deal of kindness, patience and time. These dogs are very special and are preferrably placed with young families with prior positive canine experience. Placing show dogs is different and these arrangements can be discussed offline. We release our pups at twelve weeks. We provide the pup's first shots, crate and "starter" care package, including food, puppy guide, etc. If you have an interest in a Laughing Lyons Norfolk puppy contact Linda Lyons:
